So the story begins. I loved this book. The characters are interesting. There's a sweet love story and interesting occurrences. I highly recommend it.

The story was written as a contemporary tale even though it was in the Regency period. Needed some editing. The female protagonist calls her aunt by name sometimes and Aunt at other times. There was no chemistry between the H and h. I liked the descriptions of the frost fair and the Sot physician was a good secondary character.
Another delightful story by a wonderful storyteller.
I enjoyed reading this book. I'm sure you will enjoy reading it also.
First of all this was a cute story.
I must admit though I didn't like the heroine that much at first, she was a bit selfish and arrogant as well as immature for someone "on the shelf". Yet the author did a nice transformation of her character that redeemed her in the end. She grew up and realized she wasn't what she wanted to be. So in the end it received 4 stars from me.
If you like a clean traditional romance, this is a nice one. Not the greatest plot but an enjoyable read nonetheless.
There were times I felt like strangling both of the main characters. They were both frequently beyond obnoxious. My gosh, they deserve each other.
A delightful story from Elizabeth Mansfield. She is a delight, even when her characters are a bit unbelievable. The setting for the story is an historical fact and one that is woven in well.
I can almost imagine that I'm reading an unknown Georgette Heyer. Great characters and setting and a delightful ending with three happy couples.
This book held my attention from the beginning to the end. Although full of unlikely adventure, the reader is nonetheless captured by the sequence of events and eagerly anticipating the outcome. Elizabeth Mansfield has a gift of expression in keeping her audience interested. A clean romance is also an added bonus. I am eager to read more from this talented author.
